J.R. Paper Company was
established in 1985 by Robert & Stuart Rotenberg. The converting
operation is located In Detroit, Michigan near the river front.
The converting business
was a natural offshoot to the family paper recycling business, which is
currently operated by Robert, Stuart and their father Milton. Robert
& Stuart are the third generation to operate General Mill Supply Co.
Many of the paper mills
which supply J. R. Paper are also buyers of waste paper from General
Mill Supply. We have "closed the loop" by buying product from
the mill we sell waste paper to, and also by buying waste paper
from many of the customers which we sell our converted paper products
to.
Equipment being used in
the plant include a 77" Moore-White sheeter, a 72" MassonScott
sheeter, two 50" and one 74" Seybold flat-cutters. Both
sheeters have de-curl stations.
The primary products of
the company are used for Industrial applications such as packaging,
padding, separating, and otherwise protecting the products of our
customers. We stock a full range of chipboard grades (plain, clay
coated, and poly coated) construction paper, and SBS are used for this
purpose. We also sell Corrugated sheet stock. We convert rolls to sheets, and then cut the sheet stock to our
customers specifications.
We also stock economy
grades of printing paper. We use the term "economy" to stress
the fact that we only buy this paper as "odd-lot", and
therefor, we do not represent ourselves as being a full service paper
merchant for the printing industry. What we do have available at any
given time, however, can be purchased at a substantial discount to prime
market prices.
In addition to the
converting done for our own accounts, we also do contract sheeting and
trimming for paper mills, and other customers who have the need to out
source this type of work.
Finally, we act as a
broker of paperboard roll stock, and sheet stock for those customers who
have their own equipment, but want the services of a supplier that can
provide a full range of paper, and paperboard products.
Quality and service are
the two most important Ingredients to our products. We take great pride
in providing material that meets our customer's specifications. The
paper must look and perform the way our clients want it to, and we get
it to them quickly. We do our best to "drop everything" and
help a customer get out of a difficult situation when they need
something right away. |
